Denbighshire County Council in partnership with Flintshire County Council acquired funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to improve access and consolidate the Jubilee Tower on the summit of Moel Famau, located at the heart of the Clwydian Range AONB.
TACP Architects prepared a comprehensive report including historic analysis and statements, condition survey and options to consolidate and improve the structure.
The report forms a central document within a framework to secure funding to carry out works to preserve this fragile structure. The chosen plan included consolidation and repointing of existing stonework and lowering of ground level around three of the bastions. The fourth bastion was partially rebuilt and the ground surrounding lowered to the original level, restoring it to its original form.
