The past 25 years has seen many changes in the provision of palliative care and consequently the Hospice has continued to evolve in the treatment and services it provides to both the local and wider community.
Two years ago, the Hospice made a commitment to make some radical changes to the layout to both enhance the appearance and ensure that the facility was suitable for the current medical support it provides.
A major investment saw alterations to two thirds of the building providing new and enhanced day-care facilities together with a rehabilitation area which incorporated the infill of an existing external courtyard to form an internal atrium with natural lighting that will form the central heart of the building. The completed project is now ready for the 25-year celebrations and provides a facility that is in line with current and future palliative care services.
