The Vanguard Building has been developed and completed to Passive House standards.
The new building contains 8 new classrooms over 2 storeys along with welfare facilities and staff facilities. The building has been designed to be ‘zero-carbon’ and has been awarded the Constructing Excellence West Midlands Net Zero Award. The building is highly efficient and has been built to achieve the internationally respected Passivhaus standard.
This sustainable project was carefully designed and constructed with Net Zero credentials and evidences quantifiable biodiversity, community and local gains through minimising both capital and in use waste and carbon. This is the UK’s first ever Passivhaus educational project constructed in masonry.
